TRW Piston Specs

I just bought a 427 short block with std boreTRW Pistons. It has a 428 crank. They are marked L 2298. I need to know the specs on these so I can determine compression ratio with 76 cc heads to see if they will work. I need to know the effective cc's of the domes and the compression height if possible. It would also be helpful to find out the piston od, distance from top ring to top of piston and the ring sizes. Does anyone know where I can find this info ? I have been searching the net but no luck. Thanks.

Contact an engine shop, this info is in their TRW calalog.

May I suggest you call Summit or PAW and ask if they have any information.

I think TRW pistons are also Speed-Pro or something like that.

I don't know the exact dome specs but with 73 cc heads your close to 14.0:1. The domes can be milled off if desired. They are thick enough. I was looking at a set of those a while back to use with tunnelport heads. Try over at FordFE.com. I'm sure someone there has the exact specs. I have it somewhere here also and I'll try to find it. If I had to guess you'd be around the 13.7 range with 76cc chambers. Yikes!

Try looking at www.flatlanderracing.com The piston you mention is no longer available, but you would be better off with some later tech types anyway, tighter bore clearances etc.
