Inproper installation of gaskets
sgianino Sal If the manifold is not TORKED in the right pattern you have this problem, ends are crushed and the middle bearly has any marks. I have used Fel-Pro for years. First off is checking the gasket for correct fit. Make sure the oil returns are clear of gasket material as not to cause a drain back problem. Clean surfaces both sides are needed. I use High-Tac on my gaskets, oil pan, timing cover, intake and head gaskets, both sides. Only one side for valve covers, glue to cover side only. RTV sealer, You guys need to use THIN coating and wait for couple of minutes for sealer to skinup. Alot of guys DON'T do this and have leaks. There are 10+ different types of sealer for motors, alot depends on metal. Aluminium to Aluminium parts, Iron to Aluminium, or Iron to iron. After you Torque the part in STEPS to spec, let sit for 24 hour for cure process to work. Don't add water or coolant to motor. Have seen this happen time and time again. If racing, this is a different story. A couple of quick heat cycles on the motor running for a minute or two helps the curing problem. If the block, heads or intake manifold are machined the angles will need to be checked for possible machine work also. The pictures I see show crushed gaskets on the ends. Use a Torque wrench. %/ Take your time.:) Rick L.
