I took out my thermostat last night drove car, temp.stayed at 185 degrees idling and at 55 miles an hour.Thermostat must be restricting water flow.Guess I need to find a high flow thermostat, what type and brand recmmended?

Drill a 1/4" hole in the top portion of your thermostat and you should be fine. NAPA has always worked well for me. I think I use one out of a 1968 440 Dodge Charger.

Cobra Valley makes a special high flow thermostat for the FE. It has a larger flow-through area and is much sturdier than any after market piece I have seen. Check them out on their website at: www.cobravalley.com
I gave the incorrect url...sorry. Try this one http://performanceunlimited.com/cobravalley/ |
