70's 390 and oil mods?
 
i have a 70's 360-390 block that came with hydraulic lifters, what oil mods do i have to do to build my stroker motor. i have read so many different variations does any one have the newest and best information or advise on this subject?.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that if you do these mods and use a HV oil pump you absolutely, positively must use an after-market oil pan. If you don't, you'll kill your engine from oil starvation.

Keep it very simple.

Open and blend the feed hole from the oil pump into the block.
Restrict the oil to the rocker arms with a Holley jet or a piece of round stock - something in the range of .070-.090 is normally adequate. I still like to roll the corner of the main bearing feed to match the hole in the bearing - no need to remove much metal - just detail them over.

IMHO - Everything else is optional or in some cases of no value at all.
