Boss, I would have given up trying to read 'the encyclopedia of startup's, I never pulled inner springs or used particular oils and never had any problems. My latest has 13K of mostly brutal driving!. Other than timming and oil circulation, I would have friend spray the radiator with the garden hose (heavy mist), you can adjust timing and carbs without worrying about overheating. Good luck.....

427 S/O, I am with you buddy. At the end of the day it is still a glorified Dumptruck Motor anyway. I did screw up the rear cam plug cover and had to pull engine. I did not "smack" it. Oh well. I took the libertyof pulling the pan and check it all out: The cam is already shinny and beautiful and the one rod bearing I pulled -couldn't have been better.
For the record I will not. My Oil pan was full of crap in the corners where all the weld and stuff are- It was new and I cleaned it myself it was not metalic just crappy, know what I mean? So I cleaned it up again and put back and threw another couple of hundred miles on. I still can't get over the carb- bought a custom carb. I have only adjusted the floats- Not even the idle? Best money spent. |
