oil return hole size edelbrock heads

i have heard that the edelbrock aluminum heads for the fe have slow oil returns, what size should the holes be if corrected?. i just received stage 1 heads from keith craft the holes are around 3/8. i have no way to tell if they were taken care of or not any info would be appreciated.

I don't believe really making them larger is an option. The trick is to radius the holes inward do the oil flows to them better. I know Keith does this on his stage IIs, as he did it on mine.

Also pay attention to where the oil returns into the valley. Hold an intake manifold gasket set up against the head and you'll see that the return area is partially blocked by the manifold gasket. You can improve drainback in this area up by creating a channel along the (manifold side) face of the head. You can post a question over on 332-428 Ford FE Engine Forum and someone will undoubtedly post some pictures for you.
