Rear Breather Plate holes not drilled on Perf RPM intake
I am going to run the oil overflow tank as per original style. The Edelbrock intake has a casting provision for the rear breather plate but it is not drilled :( Is there a way to add the holes without pulling the intake. I would hate to pull everything apart after Keith did such a nice job.

Not unless you want a bunch of alum shavings in your engine!
I purchased a tall manifold breather a couple years ago to install once my intake starts leaking and needs to be removed. -I'm still waiting! It isn't always easy to get (and maintain) a good seal on FE's, so I don't want to mess with mine until it gives me an excuse to take it off. -I may end up selling this breather pretty soon! |
It's more complicated than just drilling some holes.
There is a basket of steel shavings that sits down into a stepped hole under the plate. The basket is intended to capture oil mist and separate it from the air traveling to the puke tank. Then you have the two bolt holes that must be drilled and tapped. If you want to add it now, you will have to pull the intake. No way around it that I can see. |

You could always turn your car upside down when you drilled the hole in the intake so the shavings would not fall in the motor.:JEKYLHYDE

Not a bad idea! The engine is still out of the car, is that possible on an engine stand?

Once you get it installed what are you hooking up the line to?
Even with the wire basket that location historically is problematic when it comes to pulling oil out, into your vaccum source. I've got a chrome block off plate on mine. I run a Ford Racing K&N type breather on one valve cover and a back of the BT intake vaccum sourced PCV valve on the other valve cover. There's also a breather on my front oil fill tube too. Dave |
