220° oil temp, good or too warm?

hello all
I am wondering about proper operating temperature of my FE. When completely warmed up, the water temp is generally right around 200° and the oil temp 220°. No oil cooler. Is that acceptable or too warm? I have a 190 or 195° T/stat in there and am considering changing it to a 180°.
From reading other posts, it appears FE's generally like to run a bit on the warm side.
What are your thoughts?
thanks

oil temps should always be high enough to boil out condensation---if you use too cold of a h2o stat you will probably increase condensation ---I would rather my oil be upwards to 240

Of course all this also is effected by where your temp guage sender is mounted

86, that's a wee bit high, use the mopar 190 stat'. works very well for me.

I wish mine would run at 220 degrees. I'm with Jerry and 427 S/O, 220-240 is a fine oil temp, but 200 is a wee bit high for the coolant.

My 427/451 Shelby/Roush H20 temp runs 175-190 all day long with the oil temp around 220. Darren

Mine runs at about 210 F oil and 195 F coolant. I'm in Phoenix and summer day can be 110 F +. They like to run a little warmer..
