Normal FE 427 Oil temperature range
 
Hello,
Can anyone tell me the normal oil temp range for a FE 427?Thanks.

Depends on how the oil system is plumbed, oil cooler or not, and how hard you're runing the engine.

Mine gets up to 105 degrees C when the outside temp is 110 degrees F.

Mine runs about 185F (too cold for me), at or just above coolant temp on the road. IMHO, should be 220-225F or thereabouts.

Mine runs about 5F cooler than the coolant, which hovers around 195F-200F.......

with my cooler , on the track , 105-120c depending on outside temp. in town, i am luck to 80.

Depends on the motor and location
 
slitherv10 Depends on the motor and how much power it is producing. Oil cooler or none. Street driving , roadracing, cruising? With racing I am at 225-230f after 30 minute runs , depending on the out side temp. Street is in the 205-210f range. Rick L. I do have a cooler on the front end.
