428 timming
 
I want to set the advance in a mallory dual point distributor. the engine is a 428 w/ported heads, cam etc. any suggestions on initial and total timing?

Typically 36 total, 16 initial, all in by 2,400 RPM Of course this is highly dependent on how sensitive your engine is to knocking.

Probably the less the initial you have the sluggest it will be on the low in rpm's.
