Size of MOD 5.4 vs 427 Cammer

Does any one know the size difference between these two monsterous engines. Is the 427 cammer longer or shorter. Tho it seems the Mod is wider?

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

I have a Mod 4.6 3 valve on a engine stand with headers. I could give you a length ,width on it. 4 valve isn't much wider if any.

Yeah i have just looked at that. Its got outline profiles of FE and Mod but not of a cammer. But its clear that even a Mod is such a big motor even compared to a 385 series

Thanks

33.5" was the width of our 3 valve mod with headers attached.

My son pulled the timing chain cover off but 27" length would be about right with pulleys installed. This length number is a good estimate.

poboy427, thanks thats a good start

The 4.6 has a 8.037 deck height vs 10.079 for the 5.4. So the 5.4 will be about an inch taller and 2" wider than a 4.6.

Edit: make that 1.45" taller and 2.9" wider. Forgot my trig for a while there.

I know that there is at least one late model Mustang with a Cammer installed - as I understand it was a no cutting effort....
