Front End Wheel Alignment
Having wheel vibration and looking to bring in my cobra for a wheel alignment . Had the wheels balanced and still have vibration . Do any of you guys have spec's on the measurements and angles . I'm running a big block with 235/60-15 tires
Thanks Peter |
Peter I don't know what kit you have but my guess is that it is a Mustang II (1974-1978) and you can give that info to your alignment guy.

Starting place for alignment
coinop101 Peter Depending on where the car has PS or not, with PS 1/4+degree camber, l/s, 1/2+ degree camber r/s. caster depends on how quick you want the car to respond to your inputs. 3.0+ degrees l/s, 3.3-3.5+ degrees r/s. Toe should be 1/16" to 3/32"+ on both sides in. This is NOT GOING to fix a vibration. You need to have the tires get a out of round reading. If the car has been sitting on a solid floor for a month or more you are going to have flat spots in the tires. Go for a highway cruise at 50 mph for 10-15 miles. This will heat up the tires, it should get better. If yes , driving it is the only thing that will help unless you install new tires on the car. I have seen new tires off the shelf that are out of round and you get a vibration. Have them also check for radial runout. This will tell you for sure. You can balance tires and still have a run out condition or wobble. You will see it with your eye. Rick L.

BFG's
Had a new set of BFG's from the tire rack. One of them was 3/16 out of round. This caused a shimmy at about 50-55 MPH. Chech for out of round.

Thanks Guys
I'm buying new goodyear eagles next week . I had the front end done and the rear end setup . They also adjusted the coil over shocks heights all around . Made a world of differance . The finishing touch will be the tires . i'll let you know the outcome . Peter |
