Adaptive Fuel Limit Reached Lean

I finally was able to start the engine in my Cobra for the first time. The engine appeared to be working perfectly as it started with the first turn of the key. The timing is set at 10 degrees advanced at idle 850-900rpm. I let the engine idle for about 30min. and and took if for a spin around the block and the check engine light came on. I hooked my reader to the ECU and it gave me a error code of 85 which according to the book is a Adaptive fuel Limit Reached Lean. I am not sure what this means or how to correct it any help would be greatly appreciated.

Code 85 is only for one bank?

Does the engine perform ok?

Swap the O2 sensors over as first test.

I'd be putting the O2 sensors in the collectors.

I am not sure if Code 85 is for only one bank or not. The engine seems to idle good once it has started to warm up. Unfortunately the header pipes don't go into a collector until well into the sidepipes. I'll try switching the 02 Sensors between the headers.

Check you fuel pressure and filters

Voltair Check a couple of things
If you let the motor idle for too long it is possible you carboned up an o2 sensor and tne motor thinks to try and lean out that side of the motor. The swapping of o2 sensors will give you help to see if it's that side of the FI side of just an O2 sensor.
The other things to check are your fuel pressure at idle and fuel filter
Is the gas new in the tank or has it been sitting for a while?
The final thing is it's possible you have a leaned out cylinder with a poor spray pattern from the injector. You didn't say what the LSA is on this camshaft. Try running some injection cleaner throughs the rails.
See if you can find a dealership that does B&G services. This work pretty good for cleaning injectors in the car. Rick L.
