Injector Search
I am searching for replacement injectors for a custom application. I do not know what they were originally installed in. To make it more difficult, they have a threaded end. I would like to get some new or rebuilt replacements for these.
They all have the Delphi "Eye" , and the following part numbers: 01D034B , and 163. There is also a mix of the following numbers on the side: 3541, 2520, 2891, 2501, and 2780. They all have a light blue band on them. Google, Bing, and Ask searches didn't seem to be very helpful. Universal injector
bobcowan Bob good luck. Even GM doesn't know the flow rates and size. Best bet is this, they are universals because of the 2 ways to mount them on a manifold. You can screw them into a bung or press them in. There are a couple of injector cleaning companies and they can clean them, flow rate them, and rebuild. If you want to stay with them and the car is running good, stay with them. The other issues are if you switch to another brand of injector, make 100% sure you stay with the same OHM readings to match your system. Injectors have all different drivers in ECM , PCM, ICU, or just brain for them and you must match systems to work. INjectors can run as low as 2 ohms or as high as 40 ohms. Look for cleaning shop first. If you google and nothing shows, e-mail back, I can call a parts tech at GM Rick L.

Do you have O- ring bungs in your inlet and the fuel rails? If so, a set of injectors with ruffly the same length & diameter, appropriate connector and desired flow rate would do the job. The O- rings can be switched out to correct diameter, if that's the problem. Well, I'v been searching. If looked all over the web, and cannot find this part number anywhere. It must be some special limited edition injector.
I'v talked with a couple of companies who can clean and rebuild them, so that's what I'll probably do. One company said they could thread any Delphi Injector. So I might end up replacing them all. I'm not sure what the flow rate is on these. I used to think it was 32#. But I was surprised that 32# injectors would feed this engine - especially on alcohol. But they do. Once I removed them, I can see three holes at the bottom, all about 5/32" around. those are some big holes! http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...njectortip.jpg I have a race coming up in 10 days. I'm not sure I want to ship my injectors half way across the country, hoping to get them back in time. OTOH, I don't want to be racing with questionable injectors. If one dies, it will lean out a cylinder and burn a piston. Or if it floods, it could fill the cylinder with fuel = bad things happening. |

This mean you need the threads.... I suggest swapping to O- ring fuelrail & have easier access to injectors. In theory, 32 lbs are too small to supply ethanol for a race spec 351/408. Although you might stretch this by fuel pressure. It'd supply enough fuel for 500 Hp gasoline engine, is my guess. Seems like your injection setup works well. Good luck in the race. RS |
OK, here's the correct answer.
This is a standard 34# Lucas/Delphi injector that has been modified by putting the threads in them. They were never available as a stock part. The part number is long expired, and that's why you can't find it anywhere. The are an improved design over standard injector, in that it uses a free flowing disc instead of a pintle cap. They can be cleaned, rebuilt, and blue printed, just like any other injector. There are lots of places around the US that can perform this service. I sent mine to The Fuel Injector Connection 2 days ago (Tuesday) by FedEx. I just spoke with Bruce - they are finished, and he is going to express ship them via USPS today. I should get them by Saturday. Total cost including express shipping is $166. FUEL INJECTOR CONNECTION - Shop Home ... ductid=184 6/29/12: Rebuilt injectors arrived today (Friday) by USPS express. That's pretty fast service. |
