CA Required Smog Plumbing for BAR Inspection
I have an 8 stack set up on a 427, I have the SB100 exemption and am waiting for my CHP and BAR inspections.
I know that I need a PCV valve set up and a crank case vent back to one of the throttle bodies, but have not seen what the BAR is going to require. If you have been through this process for an 8 stack set up, could you send photos and a description of what you did? Thanks in advance for your help. |
I can't speak for your carb system, for my 4bbl Robert Pond setup, they required PCV and hose from valve cover to air cleaner. They basically inspected the block for casting number and determined it was a 1965 ford (it isn't) and applied 1965 smog rules to the engine. No big deal, put PCV and you should be OK. The first time I went, the tech was kind of an a-hole. Second tech when I returned was much more easy going. Kind of silly given its a smog exemption. Play to the rules...
