Beware of Redline Webber injection
Beware of Redline Webber injection systems. I have bought a system with hopes of it working well and easily tuneable, well they had me sold. I have spent two summers trying to get it to work and it is not easy to tune, and the tech department will not answer back with any help you are on your own.
you can tune for putting around, or for full throttle but it won't do both. Stay away from this set up looks nice but thats all. waste of money.:mad::( |
The system works, you just have to take it to a tuner with a dyno that knows the system. What's your engine setup and which injection system are you using?

I had similar issues with my stack EFI. No matter what I did, it was never just right. For two years I was constantly messing with it. Couldn't leave the house without the laptop, because I'd need to make changes.
Then I found a tuner that really knows the system. Within a couple of hours on the dyno, it's perfect. Purrs like a kitten around, screams like a banshee on the track. The car is such a pleasure to drive, that I often find myself just wandering around just for the sheer joy of it. Get your car to a good tuner. Stop messing around. |
Unfortunately you are in Canada or I would tell you to take it to Wayne Presley at Very Cool Parts. I would at least contact him via email. If you give him detailed information about your ride, he could sell you a map that is close to fitting what you have, and then work with you to get it perfect.

I have had my TWM/Redline setup on my car for five years without ANY trouble. The car just requires routine maint. You need someone with proper knowledge to set it up correctly the first time.

excessiveHP This is another OLD THREAD. Have you got the car to run? Have you found a Dyno shop that can setup your car? There are NO FI systems that do not need fine tuning are even more to get the car running. A good FI specialist will need about 4 hours on a dyno and 2 hours of street time to have your car running in ALL weather conditions. You are mad because you where sold a bill of goods about how easy it is with an FI system on your motor. I don't know this company BUT if you gave them the specs on your motor, cubic inches, camshaft, compression, size of injectors, trans, rearend spec. They should have giving you a basic program to get the car running and go from there. There are some other questions that need to be asked. What fuel pump are you running and where is it located? inside or outside the fuel tank? What size lines to the fuel rails do you and and what size is the return. Where is the O2 sensor located in the exhaust? Where is the air temp sensor located at? You have not had alot of threads on this forum. You are upset, you said beware and didn't slam the company. IMO this is OK but you also didn't do your homework on this. You looked at the pretty thing for the top of your motor and said, I WANT ONE.:MECOOL: What are the specs on the motor, Maybe one of the guys here can burn you a disc with there setup. You can download it on your computor and see where your software problems are. If you are running too rich, you will kill the O2 sensor and not get the correct readings for your programming. I don't know if you have a wide or narrowband O2 sensor. If it's not heated, it takes longer to get the car running in a closedloop. What ECU are you running? There must be a couple of guys that can get you up and running with some help. You are running the correct fuel pressure and have a vacuum regulator for the system. This is one of the most overlooked thing on an FI system. Rick Lake

there is a guy in Tilley, AB called westers garage. I have heard that people from all over the western provinces and states bring their vehicles to him for fuel injection work and dyno tuning. Please PM me with info on your system as I am contemplating a stack fuel inj system. Thanks Brent |
