I am in search of a aluminum radiator for my streetbeast currently have a copper one cools fine exept at idle it will get up above 210 and dont really like that. Just need to know where to get one that i can bolt in or a radiator that i could bring to the local welding shop and have brackets installed. What has others done? Thanks in advance will post pictures later turned out really nice sucks they got a bad rap!!!

Sounds like you have enough radiator if it only bothers at idle. I would look into another fan system. 210 degrees is very livable. I also have a copper radiator with a single 16" electric fan moves 2700cfm. My car with 460 runs 190ish, in real hot weather it will creep to 210 degrees once moving it drops back into the 190's At idle with fan running it stays below 200.

Is there a way to get my fan to come on earlier it never seems to run until after I shut it down it's a electric fan with a thermostat put in the fins of the radiator top close to top radiator hose. I understand that gauges may also read differently just want to eliminate all problems on car. I just got diagnosed with stage 4 melinoma the wife wants to keep the car and I don't want her to have any problems the only gauge she watches is the gas gauge

Sorry to hear about your melanoma, there are adjustable thermostats available. I do understand your concern for your wife driving the car. It sounds to me without knowing the car that other than idle temp rise the over the road temps are livable. Keep in mind without air flow through the radiator the engine will build heat very fast.
You might verify the temp by checking with a hand held laser temp gun they are quite inexpensive these days.

Joe, wishing the best for you, as far as the cooling here's some of my insight. I'm on my 4th radiator, and second set of fans. I have a crate 460 that claims 535hp. It runs hot for sure. I too only have a problem at idle, as soon as I'm underway it cools. The Maximum size radiator is 24x19 and 3" thick, period. You can't fit a larger one in a street beast. Currently I have a triple pass radiator which is a Northern brand . I also have dual 11" spal fans/shroud which if you look at my pics it covers about 90 percent of the radiator. I had a Hayden 16" electric fan advertised with 2400 CFM, on a "BeCool" radiator, no luck. The Triple Pass radiator has been a significant improvement and was worth the $200. I had a 160 degree thermostat in the car. At present I just ordered a fan shroud built by Northern specifically for the triple pass radiator that covers 100% and a 3250 CFM Zirgo Fan. I could go for days on this subject. The Spal fans are wired currently key on

Triple pass Ford radiator $185 at Jegs. Coolant passes through the radiator 3 times instead of 1 time. Fits Street Beast perfectly, you'll need to weld a couple of tabs. You'll need a water pump pulley that is the same diameter or smaller than your crank pulley as it takes a little more flow than a single pass radiator. I have an Edelbrock water pump that came on the crate engine (Says Ford Racing but it's an Edelbrock) the pulley is 1/1 with the crank. I also turned my idle up to 900 RPM which will push more water. Take the cap off the radiator and you can see how much more flow just a few rpms will make. Also if you have cast iron heads 210 degrees is not worth blinking at. If your car stays 220 degrees or less no matter the conditions you are in I would leave well enough alone and stay with your combination

Just an update for my cooling issues. Skip the Zirgo fan, they are junk, period. I purchased the most powerful 16" fan from Spal, so powerful it has no warranty. I installed it onto my shroud today and went for a long long ride down Bell Road here in Az. Plenty of stop lights and although it was only 85 degrees out, the car never seen 170. The only way to get it down to 170 with the Zirgo fan was to look for a highway. Money well spent, surprisingly quiet. $135 on eBay $232 at Summit and Jegs. Came in Original spal sealed box. Not sure how it's so cheap on Ebay. If you have a BBF and it's running hot, this fan is a game changer.

An old radiator man told me when I was a kid that if it gets hot in traffic, you don't have enough fan. If it get's hot running down the road, you don't have enough radiator. Ford Taurus 3.8l fan is the best if you have room. I run a Volvo XC-90 fan. Don't let small children walk in front of the car while the fan is on.
