Ford GT sold at Barett Jackson

What do you guys think about the Ford GT sold last week at Barrett Jacksons. It sold for 250,000 plus 25,000 fee for 275,000. It had less than 60 miles on it and garaged in a temp contolled envirnoment. Plastic still covering the inside and had all 4 options on it.

Seller did OK (remember he paid 8% off the gavel price). Buyer could have gotten a similar car for less but not much less.

Well I viewed it live and it sold for 250. and wesite state 275 so i figured 10% for fees. It had less than 60 miles and all four options. If I remember they only had four OPTIONS. Racing stripe, brakes, wheels and stereo upgrade. lol

You are correct on options. In 06 the heritage (gulf color scheme) was really a paint option. Delete stripe and add heritage

The buyer paid 10%, thus the website showing $275,000 selling price. The seller also paid 8% fee, so he only received $230,000.

IMHO, that car and others like it will continue to appreciate after the 60s muscle car bubble breaks.

I find the gimmicks on their broadcasts annoying...I watch to see the cars and more and more I am seeing morons and hearing speeches by Steve Davis.

Caliper paint option, side stripe delete option, 2006 "Heritage" paint option were available.

This guy sells lots of Ford GT's after they were titled. Many were exported.

Look at sold inventory.

He also sold the Bugatti that ran off in water in Louisiana.

He is on web but only talks on phone. His name is Shelby Smith, really.

I sort of agree with you 100%, however my friend that DeNiro look a like who had Cars of Dreams swears by them. Funny thing is he sold his collection with another auction house.

The former owner of that Bugatti that video that was on utube....was it ever determined to be an insurance scam?

rpatton3 10-03-2013 02:56 PM

Bugatti on Youtube

Pretty sure it was a scam. It was insured for a stated value and "Baptized" on the day it was bought for less; that's the story somebody heard from dealer or insurance agent.

Gossip is unreliable at best.
