Rare #1074 PHOTO
These are a few photos, I took of the Dave Brown LeMans movie camera car #1074, as it came from the movie set in France. Most of the publications are WRONG this car was purchased from Solar Productions Steve McQueen's movie company, Dave did not lease it to the Production Company. This is how the car looked when we got it off the boat from France in Miami. Solar Productions offered to purchase the car from Brown at twice it's purchased price after an article in Auto Week paper appeared a week after he purchased it. It's sale price was $7,500, Dave said NO. About a month later the car arrived on a pallet in Miami.

Dave Brown was a sports car collector who lived in the late 60's early 70's in Tampa FL. He owned #1074 Gulf car and LeMans movie film car, here pictured with my MK IIA, #1046 GT-40 MK IIB and his red GT-40 MK 1, I forget the number. He also owned in 1970 a 1969 L-88 Corvette convertible with the M-21 rock crusher trans. In about 1974 he moved to Can-Am cars and had several McClaren race cars. Sorry, for the quality of the pictures but after 50 years they are the best I had.

Bill,
I managed to restore the color and a lot of the resolution on these last two photos. Not so much on the others. The photo editing s/w I used is called Graphic Converter and written by a photo enthusiast named Thorsten Lemke out of Germany. His website is https://www.lemkesoft.de/en/products/graphicconverter.
The software is stunningly powerful and stunningly cheap ($39). To my knowledge, it is only available for Mac computers, but it never hurts to ask about Windows versions; he may also do them.
The two pics I restored came out just under 512KB, which means they can not be uploaded to the CC website. PM me your email, and I will send the restored pics to you.

You can resize them and repost. Most phone editors can resize photos these days, either to a specific dimension or to a target file size.

I can do that, Tony, but when I do, the picture loses resolution, and I wanted to give Bill the best-quality original-sized image possible.
