Hi-tech cars if put together right are among the most accurate replicas out there, great cars.
I have had quite a few of them through the shop and given them a new lease on life 😆 Looking forward to this section in the forum. |

My Hi-Tech was born in 1993 and i have had it since 2002. Great cars! Mine is Guardsman Blue Wimbledon White stripes 427 side oiler aluminum doors hood trunk lid and interior. Craig is your go to for parts or info as he's the man! Jack

Hi there, I'm a newbie to these kit cars. I've built and have some gen 1 mustangs and later GT500's. I may have an opportunity to get a hold of a HI-Tech roller car and parts. I've read and I am learning about the difference between kits. I haven't looked at it yet but I am going to and just wanting any input from the community on Hi-Tech.

Be careful! Take an exhaustive inventory of parts and identify any missing parts before buying it. These cars are really old and parts availability would be a concern. Anything you can't find will have to be fabricated.

I may add that there are few things that cannot be purchased from many resources. HiTech was a great car and parts not hard except the critical stuff which can still be purchased. Ultimately you will be fine, just don't overpay as its always costly when building a car and they are always missing something.
Critical Parts, I would ask Craig, I would guess suspension related and maybe rear end, most everything can be swapped with 4000/6000 series and there will be plenty of help here on this forum if you start your own thread. I would rather build a HiTech and have to look for stuff than build say "XXX" and have everything available mostly from China sources. Yes "XXX" can be an assortment of companies however did want to spark another thread about quality cars etc.... :p |
Awesome tidbits!! Body is primered and on the frame bird cage support system. Doors, hood, trunk lid bonded to 7/8'' tube frames and installed on the car. Foot boes installed as well. 4" very nice copy of the original 427 frame. All suspension pickups in place. It is said to have original style upper/lower control arms, spindles knock off hubs and wing nuts, rotors and all hardware. steering rack assy and tie rods. Aladan coil overs and shocks. Rear, original style upper/lower control arms, drag link, cast iron uprights with pin drive hubs, bearings, drive plates and hardware. 9' ford in a custom HT housing that accepts splined HT half shafts. Trigo wheel 7.5x15 and 9.5 rear pin drive wheels and wing nuts. he says it has cobra windshield frame and support posts, steering column and mounting hardware, gas pedal, pedal box with internal hardware and master cylinders, seat frames, rubber diaphragm seat bottoms. Registered in AZ Rolling chassis. $36.5 OBO. High or good price?
