Holley 4160 (marine) too rich

I have 2 351W's with holley carbs in my boat. One runs fine, the other won't idle (dies). While running at a hi idle, fuel is dripping/spraying out of the main disgharge nozzels, and drips out at low idle, and dies. Looks like too hi float level or pump pressure or power valve leaking . Had carb apart twice today. First time everything looked ok, all passages open, float level ok. Reinstalled, no improvement. 2nd time I replaced power valve and needle & seat. Still no joy. Vac 13-15" at 700-1000 rpm, fuel pump pressure 8psi.
Any ideas?

lower fuel pressure to 3-5 lbs

Take the float out, shake it, and listen for liquid in it.

Jerry: thanks for the info. I couldn't remember the proper setting. 8 psi did seem too hi !

Jim: no problem there, solid floats !

Solid floats doesn't mean they won't absorb fuel, which all nitrophyl floats eventually do.

They have to weigh below a maximum weight as specified by the carb manufacturer.

I would think that there is too much fuel pressure.

.

Yeah, I installed a regulator & set it to 5psi. That solved the problem.
