need one guinea pig! anybody see one of these before or use one?

Looks like it might be intended for circle track car on dirt with a lot of lateral movement. Might be overkill for street.

Not necessarily overkill.
Anything that improves fuel level control within the float bowl of a carburettor is a good thing.

If you need this to control the fuel level in your street car, you desrve a traffic citation too. Even if you do drive on the LH side of the road!

Seriously though, fuel level control is where Mr. Weber got it right.
IDA and IDF Webers have the bowl central to allow common sharing of one float chamber and as close as possible to the centre of the venturi.
