Help with Haywire wiring harness
If anyone has a Haywire wiring harness could you send me a note? I have a question about the starter solenoid wire. The large purple solenoid wire enters the fuse box and comes back out but I have no connectivity between the wires. I don't have any blown fuses or none of the relays are marked for the starter solenoid. If I run a wire from the solenoid to my start button it works but the purple solenoid wire in the harness doesn't. Where does that wire go when it goes into the fuse box? I know one of those wires goes to the solenoid the other comes from my starter button. The button has 12v power. Can I just cut those wires and connect the wire that comes out to the wire that goes in and bypass the fuse box all together?

I have a Haywire custom made harness for my car. The guy that makes them is very friendly and will help you with any questions. You should give him a call.

I have a Haywire harness. There is a red and purple #10 wire that comes out of the fuse box that are capped. The red remains hot if you have battery current. The purple is switched current. You can use these to add another fuse panel to add additional circuits.

Sorry guys my INTERNET was down all evening. Paul Proefrock called and talked me through it. It turns out that the starter solenoid wire runs through the neutral safety switch. In theory, if your car wasn't in neutral, then it wouldn't start. Well, I'm not running the neutral safety switch so the relay was never tripped and the continuity of the purple wire was compromised. You would think that would be mentioned in the manual!:JEKYLHYDE
Anyway, I cut the purple wire and bypassed the neutral safety relay. It works fine now. Thanks for the replies. Once again Club Cobra comes through!

A lot of guys that don't have a neutral safety switch, wire that black wire with a light green stripe to a hidden switch, so the car can't be started until you flip it.
