Good pics Mark. What is the engine progress now to get it back on the track?
|
tore down now. have to rering and buy new rod and crank bearings, learn some things, make some changes, etc. etc. everything ran good, just blew the cam seal out. the high rpm run down the straight was a little too invigorating for the rings. going to install restrictors for the bottom end, put stand pipes in the valley, spring oilers, few other things. car needed more camber and suspension adjustments but was real easy to drive.
heard you got yours this weekend? |
Well I intended to get it this weekend but something came up. Hope to go get it Tuesday. When you get your alignment done I would be interested in the specs you end up with.

Please remember that Vector1's chassis is entirely different from yours and his suspension settings are not applicable to your chassis. |
Thanks Richard....do you have the settings for mine? Otherwise Larry should have them.
|
Vector....in any case I am glad to see a proper hood scoop on the track dog. Looks much better than the one made from cutting the top out of Darth Vaders helmet.

Update....well it is not on the road yet....but I do have it home finally. Still need to work on position of the side pipes (now that the body is on they are too close, cover and re-install dash etc.

John, that is one great looking JBL!! Beautiful color combo.

Well about a month ago I got it finished. Got it about sorted out now. Just needs carpet and trunk finished.

very nice. you going to partition off the trunk and hide all that nice suspension finery? that's the only way to show people the difference between your car and their plow mule. i think i told you i had the partition in the one and took it out, i just took out the steel pan behind the wheels on the other. both too much of a hassle to deal with and the ones were coming loose anyway. what i did do was put clear rtv around the gas tank where it meets the frame, keeps rocks from working their way between them. just has to be a good quality rtv, the gas fumes are hard on the stuff.
you coming north for any of the track events? |
Wow!!
Jdean, congrats buddy, it looks fantastic!
Enjoy every moment my friend. Stef |
Thanks Stefano.....I was hoping it looked as racey as yours.
Vector....Since I plan more cruisin than racing, I think I will finish out the trunk. I need a place for my folding chair, car wax, cooler (and since I'm a Texan the ubiquitous laser-sighted pistol) . |
i'm sure whatever you do it will turn out nice from the looks of your car. might want to keep the pattern for the trunk and work out a deal with larry.;)
hows your powerjection? |
The Powerjection is stabilizing. Drives well, cruises at 13.7 AFR, terrific throttle response and lots of power. It started out way to rich all the way around but appears to have self-learned a bit.
The remaining issue is that it idles too high at around 1200RPM, which is annoying but I have not yet spent much time to correct it other than turning down the idle adjustment screw all the way....did not help. I think I will need to go into the tuning software and make some cell changes to fix it. |
if the throttle is down all the way check the aic adjustment, should be operating in a specific range.
