SPO 2891 Done, Waitng 4 Wire Wheels
Hi guys,
Here are the latest photos of my car that Performance Engineering sent me today. Note the Grill Splitter. Talked to Dayton Wire Wheels today and they are shipping them tomorrow to Dynamic Motorsports for installation. Can't wait to se this new baby in person next week. Tires are going to be BFG blackwall sides. No lettering on them. Juan http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...4/5-photos.jpg |
Juan,
How will the wire wheels be driven? The SPF has no splines on the hubs, just the six pins to engage the wheels. Does the Dayton wheel have a hub with the recesses for the pins? I have never seen wires retrofitted to a non-splined hub. BTW, kick@ss looking car..................... |
Beautiful car and you are in great hands. I guess they will never go hungry with all that corn!!!
|
Juan, was the splitter an SPF option or did you source it elsewhere? That is a beautiful car!
|
Wire wheels
The Dayton wire wheels are being custom made for my Superformance MKIII. It took a while to convince Dayton to be willing to make them for us. It took 4 months to get them done for us. Tor Pontillo at Dayton Wire Wheels has been great to work with, top service.
They also custom made an adapter and hub for the Superformance cars. Never done that before. Count me lucky I guess. As for the Grill Splitter, Dynamic is now offering them as an option at the dealer level. I requested mine to be polished. Awesome look. Wire wheel are being shipped tomorrow. Juan |
The dayton guys are on to something here. i am sure they will be making more than just your set.
Which Dynamic is offering the splitter ohio or reno >? |
wheels and splitters
Dynamic at Ross, Ohio is custom ordering the splitters.
I am quite sure that Dayton will be making the wires for more Superformance MKIII's. Actually Lance Stander if I am not mistaken has already placed or is about to place an order for a black roadster at Hillbank using the specs that Dayton developed for my car. Shane Miller can help you if you are interested in a splitter or with the wire wheels. Juan |
Looks awesome Juan....you're a lucky man.
|
Hi Juan, nice looking car and should look sharp with wires. I do like the splitter polished also!!! Roger
|
Greetings
Roger,
Nice to hear from you. Looking forward to the next LCS? See you there. Juan |
Very nice Juan. I can't tell from the pictures - will the exhaust be undercar or side pipes?
Jim, I knew you couldn't stay away! Terry |
Under car
By the time you read this my car will have its under car exhaust on it, and black ceramic coated too.
Juan |
Looks great, Juan. Is that the factory hardtop or is it custom? The rear window looks much larger than I remember.
I'm kicking myself for trading my SPF for a new roof on ma house now:CRY: McVette |
Yes
Hardtop is factory.
|
Juan, car is beautiful. Will the wire wheels accept the power/torque of the engine?
|
car going to remain "badgeless" ? Or AC badges???
|
Juan,
Go badgeless...then again, I'm biased since I only went with AC wheel caps and the AC steering wheel cap. :D Looks great! Just curious, are the wire wheels going to be 15"? |
Yes, indeed
The Wheels Are 15". They Should Be Arriving Dynamic Tomorrow.
Also, I Am Thinking About No Badges. Just A Clean Look. Juan |
