TKO 600 rear seal question

I pulled the rubber butt plug out of my new TKO 600 today and the inner seals that contact the splined driveshaft are quite deformed. They don't have a mold defect, they are just distorted from the rubber plug. Of the three inner seals the outermost 2 are the worst and the innermost one looks normal. Will these seals go back to their correct shape on their own or are they such a snug fit that they will stretch and seal? I would rather not replace, but it's much easier to do now.

Thanks for the help.

I can't imagine a new seal is that much. Hard to say how long it's been sitting like that before you got it, probably long enough that it won't return to shape.

I'd change it now while it's a 5min. job.;)

You know I'm gonna have to look at mine, the book only shows one seal.

P/N 2606416 for the TKO (It might have multiple lips though.)%/

You can download the sevice manual here: http://ttcautomotive.com/English/onl...er/product.asp (3550 manual)

There are several rubber lips outboard of what I think is the working seal. The one I commented looks ok is I believe the actual seal. I left the driveshaft in overnight and when I pulled it out today the outer seals were much less distorted. Based on all this I am going to proceed to install as is. Hopefully this won't turn into a life lesson.
