Using a remote starter switch....novice question

I have a remote starter switch that I know gets one connection to the positive of the battery and the other to the starter solenoid, I think. However, I'm not sure where that is on my 427 FE (Kirkham). Is it on the firewall or ??. thanx steve

When you get it figured out, better make sure its in neutral before starting.

Starter relay is on the firewall. How does it have one or two small terminals?

The remote is used to switch the solenoid only (on the Firewall), it cannot carry the current for the stater motor. Be sure the transmission is in neutral and out of gear. Attach one lead to the positive post (from the battery) on the solenoid, and the other attaches to one of the small posts that the smaller wires attach too.

Could you not wire the transmission neutral switch into the circuit (assuming it has one)?

Steve, see this recent thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/fe-talk/103768-dcdoug-one-more-tip-1st-time-valve-adjusting.html

And, before you push the remote starter button, would you make sure my ex-wife is standing between the front of your car and a wall?

Personally don't care what gear the trans is in as long as it is one of the forward 5.

Thanks.
