Door, trunk and hood jambs
I’m looking at the purchase of a polished Kirkham Cobra and noticed that the door, trunk and hood jambs have the weld beads pretty much unfinished. Are these beads difficult for an individual to smooth out? Is it difficult to polish the door jamb areas to the shiny finish of the exterior of a polished car or is this too much time and effort?

The problem with doing that is they are usually a little wavy. To smooth them out, you will need to remove quite a bit of material and on the sharp 90 degree bends in these areas it is very easy to burn a hole through the body. If that happens, then you need to find someone that can weld aluminum and call Kirkhams to get a bit of parent material to use as a rod to do so. And then when you are cleaning up the fresh weld you may burn through the body again, or warp it more...
Having said all that, you can clean them up quite a bit though. Just be careful as you do it. You probably won't get the same shine as the body, but you can get it pretty close.

I had thought about the possibility of making it worse rather than making it better. I’m sure on a painted car you can always use a bit of filler, I know that these areas are smooth on a painted car.

Filler on a Kirkham?!!! That's just, just blasphemy!
I would clean them up the best you can and call it a day.

If you're looking at a Kirkham for purchase, do you still have your 3002 replica?
