Iron Man is registered for Mecum Indianapolis
Thought I would let the forum know that i registered the Iron Man Movie Kirkham for Mecum in Indianapolis today. It will go on the block on Saturday, May the 19th at 5:45pm.
I know the auction is still over 3 months away, but if you plan on being there, stop by the car and say hi. No idea if it will meet the reserve or not, but this auction is and will be a lot of fun. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...a/DSC_0079.jpg |
Maybe I'll come down there to say hi Chris.

That car looks sweet.
|
Best of luck with the sale Chris.
|
Are you doing a reserve? I hope your storyboard includes the history (I'm sure it will) and some photos and history of the reconstruction (it was not a restoration). It is an awesome looking car.
Good Luck! |
Chris, Best of luck with the sale. The Ironman Cobra deserves good money and having a reserve is the right move. BJ gets some high roller type of people but Mecum at Indy ain't a bad move.:3DSMILE:

The Mecum Indy auction is fantastic, I attend every year, but this year I'll miss due to a local wedding on the 19th that I have to attend.
Good luck. |
I plan on doing a storyboard, or timeline display with pictures, etc. Then i will of course have the Framed and signed poster from Cinema Vehicles and other documentation as well. I'd like to get a spot near an outlet so that i can set up a flat screen and play a video of the car with photos, but i am not sure if they will allow that. We shall see. Any other recommendations?

No likely! I couldnt even get an autograph on the dash leather. Of course, i did send it when he was on a 3 month vacation, so...
|
Nice job, Resto!
I hope you do well. |
I live in Indy, nice car. Did you touch up or repaint the billboards?
|
Yes, i spent about 8 hours taping and repainting the tires. I just used white stencil spray paint. Worked like a champ and is holding up perfectly.
My plan is -Two large framed picture boards on stands showing the build. -A large sign stating that it is from the Movie Iron Man -Mirrors to place under the car. -DVD player and Flat Screen showing pictures from start to finish with descriptions. -Handouts/Brochures info and details on the car, pictures, and my contact info. Anything else? I would pull two wheels and put it on special stands, but i bet that is a no, no. |
