Thanks David! I am sure my fabricator, Walker, would greatly appreciate the comment. I wish I had the time and ability to learn how to tig weld, but some things are better left subbed out to pros that do it for a living!!!

Production of the Passenger side header has commenced.

More TIG welding Porn. My fabricator made the headers pretty symmetrical even though it wasn't necessary. He's a little OCD, which is quite alright with me.

Those are sweet. I think we are going to try those merge collectors. It seems they will seal up nicely. Where did he get the pyramids to weld on?
David :):):) |
Walker says the collectors are by Cone Engineering and the flanges are made by SPD. The collectors are "rolled cone". SPD also sells the Cone Engineering collectors as their own.

I just found out my wife is pregnant, so a lot of things need to go, including this car. I will put an ad in the for sale section as soon as possible. My guess is that the car will not be completed until late spring. I will be asking $120,000. If you dont want the body brushed, then i will take less. Please PM me if you are interested. The car will not go anywhere until it is fully road worthy and tested!

I found a pic folder with a few pictures of Kerry and a few of his machines. He can do anything with aluminum.

Maybe there is still some way to keep the car. Have you checked with David to see if there is billet baby car seat option available? :JEKYLHYDE |
Thanks for the congratulations! This was expected, just not so soon! I have a few other projects and if they sell first, then the Kirkham gets to stay for at least a while.
|
Congratulations to your new project for the next 25 years!:3DSMILE:
I would recommend to NOT sale the Kirkham (if possible for you). Your son/daughter will love to drive with daddy around the blocks and take it for a ride as soon having his/her own driving license. You did wait a long time for the car and now it’s again time to wait.:) |
Before we got married 28 yrs ago (we marry young in Alabama), I owned a 66 Fastback Mustang. I told my soon to be bride "don't ever make me choose between you, my Mustang, and my lab and everything will be great." In my mind, I put my foot down but in reality, she let me keep the car. Take away is simple....keep your Kirkham and your lab!
|
Thanks for the advice, Mike! I guess it just depends on how things unfold over the next several months. I was thinking of downgrading to something like a 2000 Viper GTS @ half the cost of the kirkham.

You owe it to your child. ;) Nah I'm all seriousness, congrats mate. It's the best thing you'll ever do. Enjoy. |
? The late 1st generation vipers are actually starting to go up in value or at least hold steady at around 40,000 average. However, I have never driven one and they might not be very enjoyable to drive. Downside is that I would not know where to start if something went wrong with the 10 cylinder engine.

I sold one of my major builds for a great profit, so the Kirkham gets to stay.
Exhaust system progress. I can't wait to hear the sound of the 363 stroker through the spintech mufflers! http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...psmrmjwahp.jpg http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...psix0ekctb.jpg http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...pskwrfsios.jpg |
