I once had an old Corvette that I put aluminum valve covers, air cleaner, and other unprotected items to dress up the engine. it was foggy one day with a slight ocean breeze and when I opened up the hood to show a friend the engine I just about had a heart attack. That engine looked 50 years old. Every unprotected aluminum piece was covered in tiny pits and white corrosion. Yikes.

Of course it does. Actually, a hand-crafted car needs a detailed manual even more than a standard GM type car does. One day, David's not going to answer that phone any more. Hit the wall once and the corner workers came running over to help me, then they covered the car with Purple K fire extinguishers retardant. When we got home and looked at the damage, the Purple K dust had eaten all of the aluminum in the engine compartment, and corroded the bear metal. But it did prevent the fire and that was good.

I like 'em bare too, believe me. I had it that way since '09. But the 2 biggest motives were...
1) I became friends with McCluskey's paint wiz
2) durring the most recent rebrush, I did a horrible job and over brushed the stripes, considered brushing out the stripes, and then thought, "Hmmmm....."
Maybe now people with think it's glass and won't touch it

Really? Those are two lousy reasons. You decided you wanted to spend $xx,xxx on paint job for your Kirkham because you became friends with a painter and your a failure with Scotch Brite pad?
Sounds like your typical "I joined a cult" scenario and your using the "diminshed capacity" or Twinkee defense.
And what color is it really? If it's black, then I may be able to forgive you. If it's red, white or blue, then I've lost all respect.
Of course not. Most of the US population fail at reading comprehension anyway. If people could read and comprehend, then they wouldn't buy 99% of the food they eat everyday.
