Ski & Ride?

For those of you who are going to try and combine your trip with some time on the mountain should drop me a line - SNOWBIRD is our local mountain and we be up there on Sunday and if there is time, on Friday.
The Snow has been fantastic with over 100" in the last 5 days...and it is still coming down ^^^****^^****^****:D

Thank you David Kee,

I just got off the phone with David Kee and he is shipping up his cut-a-way toploader 4 speed transmission. David has also agreed to explain the ins and outs of the toploader transmission at our open house.

If you have any questions on transmissions this will be the time to get the answers from someone who really knows.

Should be a great time and learning experince for all. :)

Count me in also.

Unless I loose complete control of my workplace, I will certainly be attending.

My son and I are going to try and arrive in Salt Lake thurs night and ski in that area Friday, then go to the summit Sat. and then return to SL to ski Sun and Monday. Is the Marriot the place to stay in Provo?Any suggestions for skiing is appreciated. chuck

Tom Kirkham 01-03-2004 12:32 PM

EntDoc,

There are many great places to ski in Utah. Alta is a favorite with the locals. Deer Valley is very famous for their service, dinning and imaculately groomed ski runs. It is also the most expensive. Snowbird is loved by the more advanced skiiers. Sundance is very close to the shop. It is about 45 minutes from us. I do not believe you can go wrong with any of the resorts.

The Fairfield Marriot has been very popular with our visitors in the past. The Hampton Inn and La Quinta both in Orem Utah, and just off I-15, are the most convient to the shop and find.

Hope this helps, :)

Alta is great. No snowboarding allowed though (great or bad depending on your frame of mind). Snowbird is on the same road and is connected if the back bowl is open.

Open house update:

Mike LaFevers has agreed to to come up and talk about the development of the Shelby Aluminum block and heads. Mike was very instrumental in their devopment at Shelby Enterprises.

Tom Decker 01-07-2004 10:38 AM

Steve, For all of us that can't make it to the summit, why not consider putting it on VHS. I'am sure their are alot people wlling to pay for a copy of the short versions of David Kee's, Mike LaFevers & others presentations

open house

I do not think I will be able to get to the open house but I would really like the information. I would gladly buy a video tape. Does not need to be professionally done. Home video would be great.

Tom K,
That is great news. Metal casting is a fascinating subject. I am really looking foreword to it.
Steve

Sorry guys, looks like the Bobsled Team will be a couple runners short this year. Hopefully we'll be able to make the next trip (Vegas???)

Pat - send my best regards to Amy ;P

PatBuckley 01-07-2004 09:01 PM

Sure Dave .....hard to believe it has been two years since the last trip, isn't it?

Guinness 01-07-2004 09:50 PM

Jamo and Pat,
This road trip to Provo will surely be a blast, see you soon.

Brothers Semko,
If I can find a way to make it to Provo from Korea, surely you both could find your way to Provo. It would be great to see you there, where has 2 years gone?

Jeff

P.S. Is there a door prize for the furthest distance traveled to attend the open house?

David Kirkham 01-07-2004 09:53 PM

Jeff,

Would that be vertical distance???

I will give you a door prize just for showing up! Thanks for coming.

David:) :) :)

Guinness 01-07-2004 10:23 PM

David,
Either vertical or horizontal distance is OK, I think I'll be hard to beat.:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:
