Geeez -

Too bad SAI doesn't have diplomatic and smart marketing people working for their facility.

Good job on what you and your family does, David. It is rare to have a well respected company with a very sought after product actually listen to their customers and wanna-be customers - then work your butts off to find a way to get them what they want.

Buy-it-a-piece-at-a-time, sheesh, my wife is gonna KILL me if she see's this thread.....

Everyone told David what they wanted - he did it - and it sits:confused:

Anybody want to purchase a low mileage (1,400) well done Unique roller ? I can't stand watching the ebay car sitting on the blocks.

Randy

David the "K"...

..as you have indicated you will consider trades, perhaps you would consider taking "raw material" in trade for a car. I currently have 3978 rolls of "Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty" foil that I calculate you can produce 5.3 bodies from!:3DSMILE:

Please let me know where in Poland to ship these to and I will provide my address for the return car!

It is much like the old Ford model T story about the farmer that had tin roofing left over from his barn. His neighbor suggested he send it to Henry Ford for him to use as raw material and perhaps he could get a discount on a new "T"......the farmer did jsut that and several weeks later he got a return letter from Ford that stated "although your car is one of the worst wrecks we have ever seen, we expect to have it repaired and returned shortly".

I also have a supply of New Old Stock 1965 Southern California air for those who require "real, original, date coded air" for their Goodyears....

Randy,
I can't tell you how bad temptation is rearing its ugly head. I almost pulled the trigger on it yesterday, but decided that it best to talk it over with the wife first. I really haven't slept well since this thing hit, trying to decide how to make it work.

David K.,
I have to run out and do something constructive, will try to call later.
I would like to investigate to possibility of doing a "turnkey" as time is looking like it isn't going to be on my side. I will explain when we speak.

Anyone looking for a almost new SPF with alum 427? Mine will have to go if I do this. I haven't put a price on it yet, but can guarntee it won't be a bargin basement selloff. It is perfect in everyway. Titled as '65 Shelby Cobra. Check my gallery for pix.

For repeated self-inflicted shots to the foot...Semko's a foot doctor.%/

Brent Mills 12-30-2003 10:38 AM

Brent, are you purposely trying to destroy Shelby's credibility and legacy? Shelby needs people by his side who know business, ethics, and public relations.

Mechanic, come clean with me by sending mail explaining your position, or you will be outed publicly. Your choice, but it will not be pretty for the organization you represent. Brent-Mills@clubcobra.com

GeorgiaSnake 12-30-2003 12:11 PM

David you want to see what the market is? How about a reverse auction. Lower the price $100 an hour and watch the sweating begin. Someone will be very happy and someone else $100 richer but without a very neat car.

I think it is a deal now but I'm not in the position to jump at the moment.

Randy

p.s. i must apologize to the kirkhams for posting this but brent left the door open

Dan Semko 12-30-2003 02:02 PM

Now THAT sounds fair!:JEKYLHYDE Did anyone else hear that "bang"? Thank God you ONLY have two feet.

ToyCollector 12-30-2003 02:25 PM

CSX700?, this has essentially been a Kirkham thread with a few SAI twists. Have you picked up your phone yet and actually tried talking to Shelby about their offer? Not sure if I speak for everyone, but I will speak for myself, I would prefer and advise you to settle this matter OFFline, I'll even offer to pay for your next phone call to them and the long distance charges.

csx700? 12-30-2003 02:45 PM

Jamo 12-30-2003 03:49 PM

TC was much nicer than I am...

CSX700?
Can you not take a hint, delivered like a hammer on your head when I closed YOUR thread? Please confine any further discussions you have on this thread (or others) to something other than your personal business with SAI about your car.

ToyCollector 12-30-2003 05:23 PM

David Kirkham,

Just saw your new ad in Vintage Motorsport magazine (1/2004). Beautiful photo and a very tasteful ad.

Mark IV 12-30-2003 05:34 PM

Miss Cleo...

and David, I am still waiting for the address to send the Reynolds Wrap to...

southernfriedcj 12-30-2003 05:46 PM

Nobody got the Johnny Cash joke? That was
I'll confine my humor to PM's to those that appear to be light hearted with a sense of humor, like Brent F.;)

Mark IV 12-30-2003 05:49 PM

SFCJ...

...I got the joke...."it's a 54, 55, 56, 57....Yadda, yadda....

Beside, I don't have the "Cash" to buy one....until "June"

southernfriedcj 12-30-2003 06:22 PM

Mark IV, Good one!:D

Carrerajon 12-30-2003 07:58 PM

Hi David! Well I have a new request..........How about a Lay-away plan?? I could probably slide it past Sue that way.

Or we now need a new form or Automotive Poker. I will raise you 2 Porsche 911's, a Lotus Elan and a neat TR-6.....for your Cobra Raise or call??

Seriously, You guys are the Real Deal and have made this niche of the car world much more fun to be involved in. Thanks for all your efforts and adding so much interest. I am still bummed to not be able to make the summit.

Since Randy, Chill, TC and I all live within a 5 mile radius, The phone lines buzz what each new chapter on the Cobra saga. I am sure at this moment Randy and Chill are plotting how to sell their Unique's and my much loved SPF would be sent to a new home to find a way to pony up the funds for the upgrade to yours, but it is well worth it, and hey the Lotto is up to $155 mil tonite, Hmmm.........

Thanks for keeping this so interesting and offering a tremendous product, they are truely magnificent in person(Ask TC about having to keep cleaning off my fingerprints from his car!)

Thanks and as a latent Christmas dream, visions of sugar plums, not a chance, visions of Alloy Cobras are much better!

See you! JOhn

ToyCollector 12-30-2003 09:09 PM

TR-6? What closet is that in. You are worse than I!!! :D
