putting in the sidepipes

This has been an exercise in finding new explicatives!
Getting the head pipes on the left seems to be nearly impossible.
We unbolted the motor mounts and used the hoist to move the
motor a bit in an attempt to get the #7 and #8 pipes past that throttle lever, which is mounted to the driver's footbox. I've got the headers and collectors from Justin O'Rourke in RI and they look great (could have saved me a few hours by correctly labeling them!), and the right side was a walk in the park.
Any ideas here? thanx steve meltzer, "unencumbered by the thought process"

The engine is already in, right? The exhaust primary pipes should not be that high! A picture maybe?

Pat, thanx for your help. I'll try to get some pictures out, but don'know when exactly. In fact, not sure when I'll have more time to work on it...damn work ruins all my fun! s
