Kirkham Summit 2005 5 Feb 05 Announced

In an effort to dispel the winter blues and to have a good time together, Kirkham will have it's annual Summit on Saturday 5 February 2005 at the Kirkham Motorsports facility.

Kirkham Motorsports
2575 West 1680 North
Provo, Utah 84601

We had a lot of fun last year and we hope to get together again this year and have some good times, (and FOOD), again.

We are eager to show you our latest updated suspensions and billet parts. We will have demonstrations on aluminum polishing, sanding, REPAIR (This one is always fun. This year’s car had a conversation with a deer--and lost), care, etc. Machining parts, assembly, car in a box, Garage Therapy cars, will all be covered this year. We will be asking customers for feedback so we can tailor our products to what customers want. What products do you like? What options do you like? What do you NOT like? What would you change? What do you wish we offered?

Of course, there will be a drawing for door prizes (Walter Mitty won $2500 worth of options last year) and speeches by known names in the industry to keep us all up to date on the latest trends in the industry. We will offer some of our popular options at a special discount--only available to those who attend to the Summit—on the purchase of a new Kirkham.

The Summit starts at 10:00 am and will run to 5:00 pm. Lunch, yum, yum, will be served.

Let us know if you (friends, wives, family included) are coming...and how big your appetite is.

Man, I'd love to got out for the day. My car will probably be just arriving here around that same time, LOL.

Is there any kind of airport near you guys? NY to UT is a bit of a hike :D. I'd have to fly in obviously, and then I guess rent a car for the day.

David Kirkham 01-10-2005 04:44 PM

We are 40 minutes south of the Salt Lake Airport. There are several direct flights from NY to Salt Lake.

There are hotels all over the place here. I can post a list if people are interested.

Sal, they are in Utah, not Bangladesh! Be impulsive, fly out there and have a great time. They even have electricity and running water!

David, count me in. It's been awhile since I visited you and the guys.

I would note that this is a great opportunity to see the Kirkham facility, to see the cars in all of their glory (when is the last time you saw aluminum Cobra bodies stacked to the roof?) and to get to know the Kirkhams. If you are considering a Kirkham, you owe it to yourself to be there. You won't be dissapointed! BTW, last year the guys invited both David Kee and Mike Lefevres to speak, and after hearing them, I ordered an transmission and an engine, respectively. Sometimes a personal contact is worth a thousand pages of advertising. In the case of the Kirkhams, that is particularly true. Plus, you get to bask in the balmy Provo weather. What's not to like?

Wow. Provo, Kauai, San Fran and maybe Vegas all in February. Guess I'm not going to get much work done next month.

Do we need to register? Is there a fee to attend the Summit?

Kirkham Summit 2005 5

I flew into SLC last year Sat. AM and drove a rental car to the open house. It was a very fine day. Met some interesting people. The hospitality was great and the speakers all interesting. I was fortunate to draw a Kirkham hat cetified to have been on U2-driver's operational flight at very high altitude.
David, if it's possible to keep my calendar clear, I would love to attend again and hopefully bring "sonny-boy" with me. He has your poster over his bed.

Looks like I am going to be working on 5 Feb. For the door prizes, do you have to be present to win? **)

David Kirkham 01-11-2005 10:35 AM

Thanks Ron!

No fee, but registration is greatly appreciated so we can plan lunch. Anyone who eats like me needs to sign up for 2! (just kidding)

The coolest thing we have planned for this year is some pretty bad damage repair of a vehicle that hit a deer.

Kris,

Yes, you have to be present to win the door prize. You probably won't want to miss it if you can.

Doug,

There will be a very nice 289 FIA, 289 Street, and a 427 here. There may be a 427 Street, but I am not sure yet.

We will also have the 41 Willy's on display.

Wives, friends, and kids are welcome. Keep in mind, it is industrial shop so make sure they don't go sticking their fingers into machines!

Sounds like a lot of fun Dave. The last couple of years have been a lot of fun and very informative. I look forward to coming. I called Mary and RSVP'd.
