Rear end installation-KMP 248
I need some help. Have any of you guys installed the jag differential in your car? I cannot seem to make this thing fit in there. Any help would be awesome.
Also, after installing the motor and trans and getting the motor sat on the mounts the transmission mount bolts are about 1" to 1-1/2" towards the rear past the mount holes. The transmission is a C8AR housing and a C70R tailshaft. Can anybody help me with that. Thanks |
You might have the motor mounts installed on the wrong side. I noticed that when I installed my engine the mounts are not the same. One mount was longer in the "C" shape. That might give you 1/2" on moving the engine fwd.

rnunn,,,,,,jag rear end. the upper bracket has a front and rear , if you are 180 off the u-joint flange will hit frame opening.leave all
bolts loose until all are started, including the 2 big bolts in upper bracket. You will have to alum panals removed for access. One of my upper bolts tried to cross-thread, I had to chase threads in welded nut, finally got it. Ron |
rnunn,,,,,,,,the u-joint flange in above post is half shaft flange, both sides. also I had to grind rough castings on flange to get clearence on round opening in frame.
