Soft top installers?
Those of you with tops on your Kirkham, what company made it for you?

Robbins makes a top intended to fit original cars, therefore it should fit Kirkham accurately.

You will need to get a custom top made. Even the top from Cobra Restorers will not fit right out of the box. Based on your previous posts, are you thinking of finishing a roller or have someone else complete the car.

I will have someone finih the car and I just found out that he does install tops too.

Dreamer's right...the rollbar's taller than stock. You'll also need to insure that you get the correct windshield frame...needs to have a groove along the top with a widened slot in the middle to accept the top.

Does the Kirkham come with that groove?
|
Double check...depends upon the frame supplier they are using. Mine came with the groove, but not the widened center necessary to take the tops front attachment "buttons" (don't know what they're called) to let them slide into the groove.
Last January, it looked like they had the correct fitments, but they may change suppliers from time to time. The groove could be opened up...but why go through the hassle if you don't have to?

tops
The buttons are called "holding pins" , perhaps because they resemble a pin with a head and they hold something or whatever other reason we'd like. Damn smart these English.

Thanks JBo...always wondered. ;)

tops
Jamo, You are welcome. Wish I could say I knew it off top of my head, but had to look it up in chassis manual. jim
