Has anyone tried waxing the brushed finish?
Okay, got lots on info on how to clean the brushed finish, but has anyone tried waxing the brushed finish with the grain? How about the polish finish?
I heard a lot of good and bad on Zoop Seal stuff. Any other ideas in keeping the car looking new (other than not driving it, of course) Just looking for ideas. . . thanks! |
Just get out there and beat that thing. LOL
Cobras look best with a little dirt on them :) |
Jax Wax tried some of their products on Dean Lampe's Kirkham last year. Seems to me it was one of the quick detail products. Ask Dean what he thought.

Two step
I have had luck with liquid aluminium polish and a micro fiber cloth on the polished surfaces and where you cross over to the brushed finish use WD40 on a wrag and wipe the brushed area clean followed by windex to take the oil off.

They have a wonderful new product used to finish bare aluminum. I think they call it P-A-I-N-T !!!
Sorry, . . . I had to say it  I will be good now :JEKYLHYDE Ed . |

I thought about using "paint" as a protective product for bare aluminum, but it has some drawbacks too. Sometimes it chips off when rocks hit it, it scratches easily too. Of course it can be re-applied to cover up these damages, but it requires special tools and equipment to re-apply it and it can be very costly too. . . also, it can be very difficult to completely remove. . . .not to mention it completely hides the luster of the polished areas and completly gets into the brushed areas to the point that you can't even tell it's bare aluminum anymore.
Oh, I heard rumors that it requires some sort of "precoat" before the paint product can be applied. . . sounds too complicated to me. . . |
clean
just beat it like it was built for
