Well David emailed me and convinced me to got with 3:42 anybody got any?
He says sell the 4 speed and get some 3:42's for my rear. Anybody got a set of gears for a Jag?

I can tell you that a big block car with the TKO600 is great with 3.31 or 3.42 rear gears. Good all around combo.

Thanks Tom. I heard that the dana ring gears for other makes (ford chevy etc.) had smaller bolts in the ring gear requiring bushings. IS this true? If so I think I'll try hunt down some Jag gears

Yes the Dana had different size bolts. You can buy bushings to convert over. You can also buy a Dana 44 diff unit. Be aware that the diff unit with a 2.88 will only work with a 2.88.

Tom,
I can't just change the gears to a 3:42 in the unit I have? I thought it was like other rears (9 inch for example) and I could just change he gears to a different ratio.
