Kirkham 427 S/C Engine

David,

Your cars are magnificent and I hope, in the not-too-distant future, with a bit of luck finding the right job, to be in a position to consider one seriously.

I was curious to find out, though, about the Dralle Engineering aluminium alloy 427 engine assemblies. Do you offer these as an option? I like the idea of moving the 'side oiler' gallery up the block so that the latter could be welded in case of a connecting rod failure. Do they have a website?

One other question. When you describe the car as being supplied complete, would that include weather gear and side exhausts?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Paul,

I see you are from England. May I refer you to the Gentleman in England who handles our cars. His name is Gerry Hawkridge. He is extremely knowledgable on the cars and is expert on helping our European friends get their cars running and registered.

Our cars come with side exhausts but no one here in the States has ever gotten one of our cars with the weather gear. Gerry will be able to help you with that though.

The aluminum 427 engines come from Shelby Enterprises in Gardena, California. They are a great piece. You can find them on Shelby's web site.

Dralle can assemble the the engine for you if you wish. He is an excellent builder. His phone number is 661.256.2932 He lives in Rosamond, California.

Thank you for your intertest!

Have a great day and Happy Motoring!

David

David,

Thank you for the information. I know Hawk Cars and have met Gerry once or twice. I shall give him a call at some point. He is a great guy and very knowledgeable about specialist cars, being a regular columnist in the kit car press.

Although I am still some way from affording the car of my dreams (but hopefully not too far), I am making serious enquiries. Just getting up to speed with what is available and the pros and cons. Thank you for taking the time to help a prospective customer. :MECOOL:

Have a great day!

No, the aluminum block project is on hold. Shelby Enterprises makes a great block. Genisis is comming out with a block real soon in both iron and aluminum. I suspect that the prices of blocks will start comming down.
