Engine & Trans Are In

:):):)KMP 0498 now has it's heart and soul. Went in like a glove, no damage. I will be starting with sidepipe cuts now and get this chariot of fire running.

Thanks for everybodies help.:)

Sidepipe holes are cut out all went well. I cut them about 3/8 in small and put the headers in- they are pretty good. I will trim them up and we are ready. The templetes fit different from one side to the other.

I thought you were going to break the engine in before you put it in the car. Did I miss that thread?

What did you use for the cut outs? Do have pics?

RodKnock 01-21-2008 08:09 PM

Also, did you take out the inner fender panels before the install or did you just drop in there?

Bill,,if we have a day as nice next weekend, as nice last sunday was,I want to drive up to see that beast. We went for a 2 hour drive last Sunday, tee shirt weather. Ron

ng- I started with the Kirkham templets I got online at their website. Cut the rough opening out with an air powered die grinder. Finished off with an air powered rotary file with a 1/2 dia burr. Did a little hand filing pretty easy actually. I made both sides look the same by hand feeling- sort of like artwork.

RodKnock, I took the driversdied inner fender out left the passenger side. Id would be easier to take them all out but not enough easier to me to R & R the passenger fender. If I wasn't needing to do all the plumbing on drivers side I would have left it too.
Ron come on up- Car is at one of the funner stages. How many miles do you have on that thing now?
