Anyway,
Enough of the stupidity...mine and other's. Back to the coolest Chariot of Fire we have ever made! David :):):) |
WOW, Primaries are a thing of Beauty! True Masters:)
|
I thought that you'd forgotten that I had the optional ejector seat .

Some experiences in life (kinda like elevators) you can just never forget. David :eek::eek: |
Last week I had my washing machine worked on. When the repair guy was done, he had a handful of "extra" parts that were never put back on the washer, and "weren't necessary anyway". I sure hope he never goes into billet chassis repair.
|
Hopefully we won't end up with any "extra" washers.
David :LOL::LOL::LOL: |
If I'm not mistaken, it's Thursday????
|
Maybe tomorrow. There are (as usual) a lot of little details (gremlins) that have to be worked out. Exhaust is almost done. Just a few more welds.
Have to hook up the fuel and water. Need to run the electrical. Need to put in a clutch and drive line...need to DRIVE :D I will post pics tomorrow of the progress...maybe, just maybe it will come alive tomorrow or Saturday. You can never predict these things with too much accuracy...at least I can't. David :CRY::CRY: |
You'd never make it in the Trade Show industry, Good for you! That's where I wanna be.
|
No, we have done many shows. We NEVER let Ford down. We have a bunch of customers here for our Homecoming and we took care of a few tweaks, updates, and such. 1 day off for our billet car is no big deal in the overall scheme of things.
David :):):) |
It was a compliment. It's more important to get it right, then to get it done.
|
Thanks! I didn't think you were being critical.
David :):):) |
But being one day off in the trade show industry is 100 percent failure, no matter the effort put forth. Can you tell I'm fighting a deadline and wanted to escape with pictures of you chassis? Sorry if I came off abrasive!
|
No harm, no foul! I was never offended.
|
WOW !!! I truly must say this is the first time I have read this thread and I just read every post from page 1 to 29 and I am so extremely impressed with this project. I have 20 years working in the car industry and I work around Ferrari's, Lambo's and many other super cars but this takes the cake. I cannot wait to see more pics and the finish product. It is great to see someone who can have any car he want's to go and have a one of a kind made.
Congratulations to you early on this fantastic car!!!!:eek::eek: I just can't wait for the end. I guess I now know what I will have to upgrade my Cobra to. Have a great weekend!!! :MECOOL: Jim. |
Jim,
Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate them. As I have said before, an artist is their own worst critic. I am glad you like it. I will post more pics tomorrow. We are getting really close to the test drive; little things keep coming up, but we just work through them until they are solved. David :):):) |
That's gotta be some of the most magnificent work I've ever seen. Do you have a target weight in mind for the finished car?
For several rea$ons, I went the replica Porsche route instead of getting a Cobra, but I still love to lurk here. Out of curiosity, have you guys ever considered doing a 550 Spyder? With your skills with aluminum, it'd be a natural. |

Target weight is sub 2000 pounds. We will see if we hit that in a few hours or Monday by the latest. We have considered a 550 Spyder, but we have been too busy to do anything with it. I hope to start posting pictures in a few hours. David :):):) |
Gents,
I will start posting this week's pictures now. We are still working in the car here (waiting for the Kirkham Homecoming crowd to come back). Post will be sporatic throughout the evening. Stay tuned for the fun This is the throttle pedal. Notice the kink in it. It has to clear the steering column. The pedal matches the brake and clutch pedal. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...96_Medium_.JPG |
