How Many Kirkham 289 FIAs Built?

I was wondering how many Kirkham 289 FIAs were built and how many were the leaf spring suspension?

BERT 07-06-2008 12:32 PM

I'm interested too in the production numbers. Bert

Tom Kirkham 07-06-2008 12:54 PM

I think we have made about 60 leaf spring cars. A good chunk of these cars are in Europe.

Caustic_Cobra 07-11-2008 06:46 PM

Tom,

For curiosity sake, how many 289 fia's with 427 chassis have you all produced to date??

1985 CCX 07-11-2008 06:47 PM

Jeff,

"Your" car should be here today. :D :D :D

I will take some pictures if the truck gets here soon enough. As long as you get one the number will be just right... won't it???

Joe,

Anxiously awaiting! Jeff

RodKnock 08-19-2008 10:21 AM

Jeff, will you buy it?

Joe, let's see some pics, please.

Joe@KMS 08-19-2008 10:37 AM

Jeff and Rodney,

I hope I can get the pics today. It depends on when the container gets here. This is going to be a really cool car. :D

I believe the wheel flares will be a lot like the $675,000 car at Fantasy Junction, CSX2317. It is on our hybrid frame which will make it turn, drive and stop very nicely. The flares will give it room for a little more rubber while keeping the clean lines of the narrow cars.

PS... The car I am talking about is a hybrid, not a leaf spring. It is for sale and just got unloaded from the container... Sorry to hijack Gary's thread... For more info see the other thread about this 289 hybrid

henryr 08-19-2008 05:37 PM

are you guys still making the original slab sided cars ?

RodKnock 08-19-2008 05:41 PM

henryr, if I may answer for Joe, yes they do. Their street model is gorgeous and still available.

mr bruce 08-19-2008 05:50 PM

Yikes!, get 'em while they're hot, before the Russki's roll in and take their Mig factory back!

mickmate 08-19-2008 06:55 PM

It must be the FIA wheels are a tad thick for the spindle length. The green street at SAAC was like that too. Scarey looking! Nice cars though.

RodKnock 08-19-2008 10:43 PM

I'm not aware of one, but I'm sure someone will pipe in if they have one. Talk to Joe at Kirkham. He will be happy to provide you with more info.

Caustic_Cobra 08-20-2008 08:56 AM

OK, 60 leaf springs and most of them are in Europe...how about a rough number of the hybrid chassis fia's produced...just curious.

See this thread. A slabside just arrived at Kirkham for a customer in AZ.

Very rough number is 25 Hybrid FIAs.

RodKnock is correct. We build 289 street cars on both leaf spring and hybrid chassis.

Thanks Joe,

Interesting, I thought there would be more. Interesting none the less. Thanks for responding.
