We've used this jack for racing the sprint car from Speedway "Motors" for years and have never had a issue. And we beat the crap out of it. Dirt, mud, dragging it through the pits, on the track ect... and has held up very well.

Hey Kevin, Does it fit under a Cobra? Looks very nice.

I use RaceRamps to get the car up, which gets it up enough for most work. If I need to go higher, then a conventional, good-quality floorjack with protection to get it in the air. Jackstands with the "U" shape top work fine with my round frame. I just pad them to keep from scratching. www.raceramps.com

Just kiddin, yes it works fine since it's a lower profile unit. For padding, I cut up a circle from one of our used sprint car tires, works great. Might as well extend the use of the tire,....... for as much as they cost. ;)

I even use them as floor mats in front of the work benches. :LOL:

I'm not one to start any fights, but there are some people out there that may feel that a fiberglass CSX is a compromise compared to an aluminum Kirkham. ;)

I have one of their jacks. I usually jack the car from the end of the main frame rails, under the cap at the end of the main tube, from either the front or the rear. If I want to put the entire car on jack stands, then I first jack up the rear of the car, and place jack stands at their lowest settings under the frame rails (use the smaller rated jack stands, as they have a shorter minimum height - if you jack the rear too high, then you can't get the jack under the front). I then place the jack under the front, and jack the car to the desired height, and place the jack stands. If needed, I then go back to raise the rear, raising the rear jack stands. Lowering the car I do the opposite.

Never one to walk away from a fight, to be sure. In fact, I have been known to go looking for them, many times to my regret.

The Kirkhams are a great body, no question. They don't fit on a CSX without frame mods. Made where? And, I think one of my lawyers said that Shelby just filed a lawsuit against Kirkham. No surprise there. All aside, I will stick with CS and take the beating.....

Anthony- have you thought of buying, (and damn, can't recall the company name) it looks like a drive up hydraulic jack but, it's mechanical. I'll see if I can find the product and be back. It's been talked about here many times.

Ok, here's a link. I'm thinking about buying one myself. Can't change a engine but, It would make life easier for servicing, cleaning ect. They also have attachments for other duties.

I have no idea where you got your information. I think it is quite wrong. I realize you may not have 1st hand knowledge of this and may only be passing on hearsay. I do, however, need to set some things straight. As such, I take no offense at your comments. I tend to walk away from fights. My mother tell me that as your emotions go up, your intelligence goes down so I try to live and let live. As such, I do not mean to offend with my comments. But, as emails are pouring in, I need to say something.

We have sold around 200 frame and bodies assemblies to Shelby. EVERY one of them had the body riveted to the chassis...we MADE and supplied BOTH items to Shelby (along with various other parts at various other times). We have never sold Shelby a bare body (as far as I can remember over the past 14 years. If I am wrong I apologize). I have no idea how anyone could know if our bodies fit their frames or not--I don't think anyone has ever tried. They don't even have one of our bodies to attempt the experiment.

Now, in the above paragraph, I am referring to the CSX4000, CSX7000, and CSX8000 cars Shelby is selling now.

As for the CSX2000 and CSX3000 cars, that is a very different story. I can tell you for a certain fact more than one of those original is now running around with our frame/body or both. (See the Shelby registry). These cars were raced and raced hard so they got bumped (sometimes hard). No one has ever complained our bodies don't fit on an original car...in fact, they keep buying more. Come to think of it, I digitized an original car, CSX3104, to get the body data. So, if our bodies don't fit a modern Shelby frame then I don't know what to tell you.

Why would he? Shelby has 2 cars on order with us right now that will be delivered in the next few days. We have supplied them cars for years and years and years. They pay their bills with us, pick up their cars when they say they will, and buy parts from us when they say they are going to. Gary, Dale, Amy and the bunch have always been quite nice to us and we have with them. We have no problem with them. I think sometimes people like to stir the pot and aren't happy when there nothing bubbles up from the bottom.

You posted, "No surprise there." Well. It would surprise me and I am quite sure it would surprise many other people too. Shelby knew about us as far back as 1996. They started purchasing frames and bodies from us in 1999 or 2000. It is now 2009. That is a long, long time to have a supplier, vendor relationship. It is a relationship we would like to keep going for another decade...or even longer.

I may be wrong David but, I don't believe Shelby can lay a lawsuit against you, as Shelby did not register the name "Cobra". He's tried to suit other cobra manufactures in the past, and the judge responded (in short) that if he wanted the name to be his own, he should have done it in the 60's. Hammer down !!!

Sometimes I feel he's loosing my respect of these issues. I love Carroll and what he has done for American racing and American muscle cars, from the past and present but, you know what Carroll,...... Get Over It !
