That's the heartache, you spend six figures (maybe not $200k) on your dream car, drive if for a few hundred miles, and then sell if for $50k because it ain't what you dreamed it would be. Hopes dashed, dreams shattered, tears on your pillow... yep, we've seen it all before.:(

Anyone notice the side pipes? Is that a two-piece muffler or a heat shield attached with screws? Nice collector. Pretty clean assembly. Anyone recognize the manufacturer?

Those are Kirkham SS Sidepipes- painted black. It is really a nice build- not my style but all the good parts.

Kirkham is now building the side pipes and headers, the last cars that I just bought from them has that kind of side pipes, the collector is perfect.

If I remember correctly, that car was built by Keith Craft Motorsports in Texas for a gentleman in Florida.

This is one very unique Kirkham and it will require one (or more) very unique buyers. it may be an over-generalization, but I think most Kirkham buyers want a Cobra that's near original spec than the opposite. This particular Kirkham will require some changes for those individuals that want a Kirkham and want it close to original spec.

Kirkham rollers are $57,000 and a very nice Kirkham sold on eBay recently for around $90,000. How about somewhere in between? :)

Ahh come on guys, it's not that bad. Granted the interior has to go, but the rest of it is o.k. I think the silver paint looks pretty good, but then again silver was one of the finalists in my color choice so I guess I am partial to it.

Uhhh, I dunno.... 700HP for anyone driving much on the street might be just a little rough around the edges.:rolleyes: But yes, that can certainly be fixed.

I never said the car was bad, just odd, unusual or strange. If the seller feels his $200K was well-invested, then the reserve will be high and it will unlikely sell, especially in this market. I'm still trying to figure out how $200K was spent, unless the bulk of it was the upholstery work. Kidding.

You can't help but wonder if the person thought it would ride better with a more "refined" interior.:LOL:

Although the 2nd roll bar may be an aesthetic issue for some/many, my view is that the 2nd roll bar was an important safety issue for you as well as others. However, the subject Kirkham's arguably unique upholstery bits are not safety-related as far as I can tell. In my book, different animals or snakes as it were.

Tangentially, a street Kirkham would interest me very much, in terms of a purchase, but then having no roll bar worries me a lot.

But the car was already silver, why paint it silver. I can understand blue or black or whatever. But silver?

Because if you're going to do that to the interior you might as well paint it the same color that the metal is raw.;)

Here's a Kirkham FIA that the guy has only invested $170K in. :D $99K buy it now price.

I think I saw this car on eBay a while back along with some posts on CC.

Sorry to go to such an unrelated topic and here's where I'm going to look stupid, but, how does one post a new question? I'm in line for a Kirkham and want to get some advice from other locals (Utah) about the ins and outs of registering it.
