But, by gawd...a damn nice A-H!
|
Ah! Aluminum...very pretty especially the polished versions, reflect quality and fine workmanship.and of course expensive. A polished P-51 airplane is a geat example of a beautiful thing, but practical...... not so much! If you get a big dent, or any dent it's someimes very hard o find someone to work on the darn things and it will be expensive if you find someone.
Fiberglass on the other hand has some of the some problems as aluminum, stress cracks and damages easily. So there..if you can afford an alumin cobra ...go for it they're really "*****in looking". Bill |
I had some alarm techs working in my shop... the next day I notices a pretty large goose egg dent in the rear quarter, like someone leaned a ladder against it. grrrrrr! Had a paintless dent repair guy there to take a few dings out of an old Mercedes and he charged me something like $60 to remove the dent in the Kirkham. Took about 25-30 min and you would never know it happened. Try that with a fiberglass car... or a painted car.

I say go aluminum. You'll never look back.
|
Yup...instead you'll be looking in store and office windows as you drive by to see your reflection and remind yourself how bloody cool you be.
I've had this thing for six solid years...parked at shows and events (uncontrolled touching by unknown hands), parked on the street, driven down country roads, at the track in desert locales, etc. Yes, a few "shallows" (not really dents) where hands have been placed atop the fenders...but nothing that shows under a brushed finish (unlike a polished one). Hit a few cones autocrossing up front below the headlights, and no dents. I've never had a vehicle that has been as worry free body-wise as this...some scotchbrite and Windex and it's back to new. Unlike my red Butler where I waxed and buffed and cried over every little paint chip. Go brushed and enjoy driving it instead of fretting over it. |
