The funkie cowl piece: I painted all my alum. corners with trim black. Then cut the carpet a little fat and glued them down. I did not like the way my nylon carpet rolled over the corners at that place. It also wanted to puch up all the time. You can't tell the carpet is cut at all even after wet couple of times.
Floor carpet- what a pain in butt: Nothing would stay always bunched up so a rivited a 2in x 11in piece of aluminum right at the back part close to seat painted it black. You can pull it back to vacume and it stays in place. good luck sounds like you are comming alonge great. |

Only wear I experienced was on the driver's side due to size 13s...had a nice rubber heel pad sewn in a couple of years ago and it's been muy perfecto since then. My ERA has lift a dots at the front and a sewn in BIG velcro strip style attachment just under the edge of the seats. Works well, no way I would glue in that front carpet under your feet part.
Come to think of it, I can't recall the last time I've seen a sheep around Hawaii. Goats, but not sheep, they must be here somewhere... |

When I carpeted my car I actually purchased extra carpet and carpeted the floor of the foot boxes. I also have floor mats and did use the lift a dots on all 4 corners and they work very well at keeping the floor mats in place. I would do as JAMO suggested and have a carpet/apholstery shop sew in a rubber heal piece where your heels will be moving from shifting, braking, and applying the go pedal. I was seeing some wear there and just had a piece sewn in. I also carpeted the rear wall and the curve in the corners. Makes for a very nice finished look.
I never carpeted my trunk, because when I built my car I took all the aluminum panels out of the car and had them clear anodized, some for appearance, but mostly because it protects them and makes them easier to clean up.
