Nice! I will mark the dates on my calendar. This would be fun for my dad and I to bring the Cobra and the new GT500 :).

Howard 03-10-2007 07:46 AM

Hey Mike,, Can I add a show to your list?
On April 28, Desert Valley Nissan in Vegas is putting on a show for Brest Cancer Awareness. I'll be driving all the way from San Luis Obispo for the show with a few other Cobras for my area. The show is one of two reasons that we'll be heading to Vegas for.
Here in Central Cal we have been hearing a lot about a "super car" that resides in Henderson area. This car has a reputation of being the "best" that Vegas can offer. Have you seen the DougR car ?. We hear that it will be worth the 5 hour dive just to see!.
Can any of you Vegas guys meet us there?.

DougR 03-12-2007 09:59 AM

Mike, May 12 & 13 is the same weekend as the Fall COCOA event at Willow Springs so I won't be able to attend. But there are lots of other Cobra guys that don't track their cars who should be able to attend. It sounds like a really great time.

Howard, your event is the same weekend as Knott's and I'm sure there are lots of guys that will be making that trip.

BUT, we'll get the word out to all the Cobra owners here so that everyone is aware of these two events.

Howard, can you tell us more about the Breast Cancer Awareness show? What are the hours? How does one register? Is there an enry fee? etc?

But the way, DougR's car has never won an award. Hope your not dissapointed. The Cobra's in Vegas that have won awards include Chuck Robertson's, Kenny Allwein's, Scott Hatcher's and I'm sure other's too.

Howard 03-12-2007 07:23 PM

Here in Cent. Cal,,,,

May not have wone an award,, is that because it's in a class of it's own ?

I will call Joe tonite and get all the info on the Awareness show. Joe told me that he was told that Carol Shelby "may" be at this show. From what I was told,,,,Carols wife is a breast cancer survivor and this is her personal charity, as is the heart fund for Carol Shelby.

Howard 03-12-2007 07:42 PM

Doug,
I just talked to Joe, 702 434-9678, who is heading up the show. The event will beb held on Saturday, April 28, 8 AM to 3 PM at the new Dessert Nissan dealership 5800 W. Sahara.
Joe has accumulated $25,000 in prizes, there will be a Nissan car to be raffeled off for $ 5.00 per ticket. The raffle will be started at 2:50, just before the end of the show.
There will be a silent auction,, can I raffle a photo of your car ??
I kmow that we'll loose a few cars to the Knotts show, but i'm sure that we can locate a few Cobras from somewhere. Do you know of any other groups that I can contact?.

Howard

Howard - Is this event open to all makes/models/styles of cars? If so, I can forward the information to a few local Nissan and 350Z clubs which seems like it would be appropriate at a Nissan dealer. :) Any news on weather or not Shelby will be there? That could dictate which car(s) we bring if we can make it. :)

Howard 03-12-2007 08:53 PM

Good point that I forgot to mention.
This event is open to anything that has wheels, 2, 4, or more. Trucks, low riders, just bring it down. I live in Central cal. I will be trailering my Cobra there. From my area there will be 2 Panteras, a Tiger, 2 GT500, a '67 Camero ss427.

Nice! I will pass the word along. Thanks.

SinCityCobra 03-12-2007 09:06 PM

Ahhh, just realized that I will be in Buttonwillow racing the Redline Time Attack the weekend of the Desert Nissan show. Oh well, I did pass the word along to the NV350Z/G35 Club and the SinCityZ Club.
