Mid-Ohio URGENT!!

I received this today from Mid-Ohio. However an earlier schedule said we would run until 7:00pm. Check the schedule at OCC.com.

The Mid-Ohio School needs your help spreading the word about the upcoming June 23rd event to your fellow Cobra and Mustang owners! In order to run the Fourth Annual Cobra Club driving experience at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this year, sign ups must improve quickly. Currently, there are 9 people registered for the event and a minimum of 20 is necessary.

For your reference, attached is a revised curriculum. We have just extended the hours of the day further to offer more track time especially for the returning Intermediate and Advanced level drivers.

This is an exceptional value at $325 for the amount of driving time and instruction you will be receiving! You already know that though since you’ve signed up. Per the 10-day cancellation guideline in our ordering policies and procedures, notification on cancellation will occur no later than next Monday, June 14. It is absolutely not our preference to not do this, but we wanted to give you advance warning that this may become a possibility.

We appreciate your support of the Cobra Club driving experience at Mid-Ohio! Your friends can click on this link to sign up….. http://www.midohio.com/Store/School-...ub-2-Day-Event.

Sincerely,

Steve Bidlack

Mid-Ohio Track - Opinion

I did this event the 1st year it was offered in conjunction with the London Cobra Show. The amount of track time wasn't enough for me. The practicing of the line through several corners over and over got old and some cobra's were overheating. It may benefit 1st time track drivers but for people like me that have been to 1/2 dozen road courses and have tracked my car(s) since 2001 - well. The attendance numbers have probably dwindled since that 1st event. As far as the money, I just came back from VIR - 3 full days at the track. One day the full course, the next two days the north course - all for $425.00 If one wanted to track the full course only one day it was $225.00. Four 30 min, sessions per day and more near the end of Sunday as people left.

I'm not being the fly in the ointment but trying to give some straight, honest feedback.

Sincerely -- Mike Sharkey

We are in a similar position with the Run and Gun event. It seems like it is getting more and more difficult to find fellow track junkies to play with. I personally like events that cater to replica's like ours. I like to be on the track with other guys that have similar cars and aren't willing to sacrifice their rides to beat me into the turn. It is a bit expensive for a track day but Mid Ohio is a world class track. I had a great time at the event a couple years ago. Sorry I can't make it this year. I just don't have the vacation time available.

I did this last year and it was a load of fun. I am unable to do it this year but hope to do it next year. If you have never tracked your car, it is a relatively nonstressful and inexpensive way to push your car and yourself a bit.

Mid Ohio Tech Inspection

Guys,
If you are signed up for the LCS Mid Ohio track event, don't forget your pre-event safety inspection reports. We will be doing inspections Tuesday evening at the Quality Inn. We will also do inspections at the track early Wednesday morning for you late arrivals.

Doug
