Mid Ohio - Big Thumbs Up!

I'm not long on words, but this was the most fun I've had in a car ever!
Great instructors, agenda, course and more. We even got to use the pit garages in-between events!
As a novice, we started out with skid cars (Mid-Ohio Honda), then went thru slalom, brake-turn-accelerate then line drills. Try doing an autox course for 5 minutes non-stop.It kicks your rear....
The instructors gave excellent instruction so that we were much better prepared for the lapping later that evening.
While us novice drivers where doing our thing, the intermediate and advanced groups where working on the track, learning section by section. Rumors of 160 miles of lap time were reported.
We (novice group) hit the track at 6 the first evening starting on the key hole section. I thought that playing lead-follow would be restrictive....no way. The instructors did a great job at keeping us just at our limits.
It was so fun to keep on the gas longer than the normal romp through a couple of gears.....
I'm hooked, can't wait for the next track event.
Mid Ohio 07 ,Yea!

I second this John, had to be the best fun I have had with my car in a long long time or ever. This ran so smoothly and the instructors and others made it very easy to have a great time and not to have to worry about anything happening. Even during the laps that we were pressing each other were amazingly safe and controlled. The instruction from start to finish was incredible, the instructor that I was hooked up with was Dave Roush, great guy, incredible driver, should of seen him doing some of the demos, speed and controll was just incredible. He was following up on the weekend racing there also.
I would do this in a heart beat again given half the chance. You guys that did not show or were worried about something happening to your cars missed out sooo much.
This was an awesome event. Way to go OCC guys.

All I can say is WOW! I can't believe the quality of instuctors that were available to us! Those that did come... well just find one of the in car videos and watch.. Try Flyin Freddie ran a great line the whole race. Not just a home run a grand slam. The weather is the one thing that we could not control but that's life. I'm sure that next year's event will involve Mid-Ohio in some form or another.

I don't know who was having more fun, the instructors or the students! Every one seemed very, very happy and I see no reason why it will not happen again next year. If we can get more folks to come, then we can have the track for two days to our selves! Even though most of Wednesday was a rain out, one guy told me he already had close to 200 miles of on track time.

I know most of you are probably still on the way home from LCS but when you get back, how about a bunch of pictures and video?

I really enjoyed the Mid-Ohio Track event! I can't say enough positive things about the professionalism of the M-O staff in running such a fantastic and custom sculpted event for our cars. The baby-steps aproach to learning the tracks was perfect for me. Everything was controlled and safe...I never felt intimidated or nervous...and yet, was able to push my car and skills nearly to thier limits when I wanted to. The rain-out was a bummer on the last day...but none-the-less I thought it was a great value and look forward to doing it again.

M-O's initial fears about having a group of type-A personalities in big HP cars with short wheel bases was quickly dispensed of. They commented that we were one of the most pleasant and enjoyable groups that they've ever hosted. Hats off to our Cobra community again!

In spite of the second day rain-out, I thought that this event was one of the best values I have experienced in a long, long time. Fantastic facility, truly great instructors, friendly fellow Cobra owners and lots of seat time. When can I sign up for next year?::

Already talked to Steve Bidlack of Mid-Ohio for next year! To early to tell dates at this point but the most promising was the two days after LCS which would be 6/25-26. We will let you know when we know!
